No Speak No Slave - The Black Crowes

Rooster crows at the break of dawnA mother dies without her only sonA doctor laughs in the face of diseaseI never once heard a preacher say, “Please”
And you wanna be heard, heyBut none of us understand a wordNo, no, no, no, no
And you wanna be freeYes, you do nowBut don’t speak like a slave to me
Policemen who break the lawPoliticians they rise and fallA baby cryin’ for its mother’s milk, yeahA daddy’s secret, a hidden guilt, hoo
But you wanna be heardBut none of us understand a wordNo, no, no
And you wanna be freeYes, you do nowBecause you’re speakin’ like a slave to me, yeah
Ooo, ya see you know what you’re thinkin’
AahAnd a, you, you wanna be heardYes you do now, uhhBut none of us ever, ever understand a wordNo, no, no, no
And you, you wanna be freeYes, you do nowBut don’t you speak like a slave to me, yeah
And you who desired to be heard, wellBut none of us ever, ever understand a wordNo, no, no, no, no, no
You, you wanna be free, heyBut [Incomprehensible] don’t you speak like a slave to me
AahNow, now, now, now, nowAah, uh uh, ah ah, oo oo

The Black Crowes

The band emerged out of The Atlanta rock scene around 1984. During the rise of grunge rock, The Black Crowes emerged as a major force of Southern rock. The band was fueled by the creativity that grew out of the Brothers Chris along with Rich Robinson on vocals and guitar. The group was inspired by blues legends as well as iconic rock legends such as The Faces and Led Zeppelin. Their sound is a powerful mix of bluesy riffs soulful vocals, and thrilling live performances.
